Logrhythm Music CD Celebration Performance

LogRhythm Music is having a post CD release/celebration. We last had one for Brain Massage in Oct. 2004 and people have been hounding us for another ever since. We missed doing one for Brain massage II, so we will make this a II & III celebration.

When: Sunday Oct 18, 2009 at 7:00pm and ending somewhere around the 9pm hour, give or take a few minutes.

Where: 424 East Simpson St., Lafayette, CO 80026. The studio is called Mohr Fire Recording Studio. Entrance is the White door on
the East side of the building off of Michigan Ave.

How much: Suggested donation of $10, but no one turned away for lack of funds. CD's will be available for purchase with a discount for a complete set.

The Musicians: Per & Eileen Hultquist on Didgeridoos, Hang, NAI Flute, Fujara and whatever else is within reach. Tessalin Green on Keys/Synth. Tony Zappitelli on Guitar, and newest member Ani Jackson on Tablas. Special guest sit-ins by Scott "Gusty" Christensen on Harmonica, percussion, etc.
Possibly an appearance by contributing artist and Kalimba master Cornelius Duncan.

There will be an opportunity for open participation with percussion....bring shakers, small drums, rattles, etc.

The music will be mostly new, will all be trance-danceable and we want to encourage dancing. Chair seating is limited (35) and floor seating spaces(25) will be available. You may want to bring your own mats, cushions or folding chairs.

We encourage RSVP's so that we may be sure to have enough room for everyone.

Hello, fellow Tribelings!

So. . . I don't exactly know how it happened, but I'm moving to Western Colorado. . . and I know exactly 1 person. lol. So.. . who is out there? Grand Junction to I don't know. . . less than 2 hours from there. I'm a laid back. . . well. . . actually if you count a serious clean freak as laid back. . . so I guess I'm a semi laid back, open minded, extremely unjudgemental woman moving out there and I need some friends. Companions. Guides. People to help me explore the unknowns of Western Colorado, preferably people who won't comment on my flame red hair (I know I know, it's black in the picture. But its red now.) or my willingness to accept any religion or gender to love. :) I like almost all music. . .I'll be glad to dance to hiphop as much as get my hips moving to belly dancing, to attempting country line dancing. I really just like to get my ass on the dance floor and have a good time. I'm a heavy reader, and love having actual conversations about real things. I'm just wanting to find some kindred spirits.

I know this is a Denver tribe. . . but I thought maybe there might be a few Western Colorado people out there too. . . or I can at least make friends five hours away and spend a weekend or two occassionally making havoc in Denver. :P

We present An Evening at Lumonics the 2nd and 4th Sat. of each month.

Lumonics is a multi-sensory environment comprised of magical light sculptures and fountains, intended to seduce you into a state of expanded awareness through the use of light, color, and sound.

Special Guest: DJ Pura Vida of Rhythm Sanctuary

Sienna will be playing Tibetan Bowls to take you on another journey of sound. The bowls create healing energy, and have been used for over 2000 years. Their harmonious vibrations have the ability to take us out of ourselves, and bring peace and harmony to the body, mind and spirit.

An integral part of the evening is the video art by Dorothy Tanner & Marc Billard. The videos consist of multi-layered colorful abstract imagery that lets your mind freely roam into inner space.

FREE FESTIVAL- Rythms On The Rio - August 22-23

I wanted to let you know about a free festival we are putting on in South Fork CO, on August 22nd and 23rd 2009.

The festival is called Rhythms On The Rio (www.rhythmsontherio.com).

It will be a free 2 day festival with on-site and local camping. It will be a pass the hat donation based benefit for the Rio Grande Headwaters Land Trust, and the High Valley Community Center for kids, and is being put on by The South Fork Music Association, a non-profit volunteer 501-3C Group.

Headling acts will include the Nershi-Law Trio (formerly Honkeytonk Homeslice) and friends, Drew Emmitt, Great American Taxi, and others. Appearing with Bill and Jill Nershi will be Scott Law, and Darol Anger (plus maybe some other unannounced guests). The Darol Anger Trio, and others, will also appear that
day. On August 23rd 2009, Great American Taxi, Susan Gibson, Pete Kartsounes, and others will also be appearing.

The festival will take place on the grassy banks of the Rio Grande river in the San Juan mountains of South Fork CO (just over Wolf Creek Pass from Pagossa Springs and west of Alamosa in the town of South Fork on highway 160), on August 22nd and 23rd 2009. It is easy to get to, and should be a kind, relaxed, real good time for everyone. Tickets are free, but must be downloaded off of the web site.

Apogaea Event Location Announcemment

Over thar. . . at Happy Ass Ranch in Park County, Colorado. We regret the
late confirmation of our site for this year's event, we've been diligently
evaluating a couple of alternative venues up 'til the eleventh hour. Options
are good, but we determined HAR is the most appropriate property for Apogaea
this year..

Some members of our community have expressed worries about this location. We
want to acknowledge we understand and have shared their concerns. We've met
in person with Park County public safety officials regarding our location.
Our proactive contact and subsequent dialogue around this years event have
been positive. Largely that's been thanks to you. . . as the artistic nature
of our event, the success of our leave-no-trace ethos, our attention to
detail on event organization, the professionalism of our public safety team
(thanks Rangers & EMS!), the extent of our volunteer participation. . .
these are all things that distinguish Apogaea in the eyes of permitting
officials. It's clearly understood that last year's law enforcement activity
was not associated with our event. Potential venues have good impressions of
our event and seem eager to work with us. We like it that way, so thank you
for doing all your positive voodoo you do do so well.

We'll continue to evaluate site options for Apogaea 2010 and beyond, so we
appreciate your suggestions for future locations. Please do not hesitate to
contact us with your ideas, questions or concerns.

Oh yeah. . . Apogaea's gonna freakin' rock your ramble downside up &
sideways in through the out door. Those of you who experienced Friday's
offworld mining colony, where the Expat Aliens set down their saucer on the
crust. . . you know what I'm talkin' 'bout. Already I feel advance tremors
of this Saturday's seismic rumble when a certain volcano goes active. I'm
aware of several Apogaea theme crews who've been busily cross-pollinating,
mutating, and getting ready to bring it on. And all the recent precipitation
looks good for holding off summer fire restrictions.

So see ya round the volcano, if not this Saturday then hopefully in June.

Julianna will use her years of fitting experience to show you where to look for common fitting problems in belly dance costumes. 3:45pm - 4:15pm: Rafi'ah
Rafi'ah, as a prelude to her Drum Drama workshop at Shimmy for the Cure Weekend, will be demonstating and leading you through some of the techniques for the six-minute shimmy, adding diversity, layering and how to contast percussive moves with slinky arms and torso.

4:15pm - 4:30pm: Fashion by Artsmyth

4:30pm-5:00pm: Suzanna
Suzanna Del Vecchio is a certified yoga instructor in the Iyengar method, which among many things focuses on detailed attention to body alignment. Suzanna will present how she uses this alignment in our dance to help create a strong foundation for good technique and greater awareness of the body mind connection.

On behalf of Living Earth, thank you to all who have registered for Beltania and are supporting our event. With well over 300 registrations already processed, and more coming in daily, we are very excited about the interest in our upcoming festival!

Rocky Mountain Didgeridoo Festival August 21-23, Crestone, CO

It looks like we have a festival ground & firm date for a weekend Rocky Mountain didgeridoo festival. The inspiring Dream Weaver Sanctuary is several acres in the Crestone area, at the foot of the glorious Sangre de Christo Mountains in southern Colorado. This is a new location about 35 miles from Joy’s place.

It is a green site so we compost and recycle everything. There will be potlucks and the End of the Road Café will be serving up yummy coffee and maté treats, and with everyone’s help can be a communal kitchen. This will be a self-sufficient camping event, be prepared for afternoon thunderstorms. Lodging is available nearby in the town of Crestone. It’s hoped that each person can do an hour or two of volunteer work a day, and it looks like we’ll be able to offer work trade & sliding scale.

The date for the festival is August 21-23 … this is one week after California’s Jammin’ Tree festival and two weeks after both the Crestone Music Festival and In-didj-in-us in Oregon. Ondrej Smeykal sounded excited about playing in Crestone, and other international artists will likely perform. They will need to travel great distances, so support them with your generous donation.

The hope is to draw audience and performers from around the region, and showcase mountain-state talent. There’s enthusiastic didj communities in Santa Fe and Albuquerque, and a well-organized bunch in Colorado Springs as well. There are a number of players and makers here in the San Luis Valley as well. Everyone is invited to play, either in a performance slot, open mic, ceremony, or sound healing. The End of the Road Café will be a small, intimate venue for acoustic performances and open mic… so volunteer to be a barista! Everyone is also encouraged to set up a booth to show their wares, or offer instruments informally by leaning them up against a tree. Anyone may offer a workshop.

Volunteers can work on festival coordination, publicity, booking acts, being an act, setting up the physical site, website, fund raising, you name it. Remember… it is YOUR festival, be a leader!

There will be a one-day potluck fund raising & planning event at north of Denver in Dacono Saturday June 6, the same date & place as last year’s event. If you remember It’ll be a great place to jam and have a blast!

NYC Freek Factory/CoSM Resident to be in Boulder January - March looking to gig...

I'm going to school in Boulder January through the end of March, and would like to book some gigs while out there.

I was resident DJ at Alex Grey's Chapel of Sacred Mirrors for their homestretch run (they're moving upstate NY) and the Freek Factory in-house sound engineer and producer.

All that said, I would like to play some gigs in Colorado while I'm out there, mostly for some extra cash while I'm in school.

I'm not expensive, ($250 is fine) and play a very wide variety of styles from tech-house to breaks to d&b to glitch and back, remixed Live using Ableton and hardware controllers.

Since I have been free from the world of working retail sales for almost 8 months now after ofer 2 years of servitude, I have completely forgotton about the customer & employee stress that begats from the day after Thanksgiving... more commonly known as Black Friday. Phoenix & the Sultry Emberz have brewed up a special evening for you which includes a spooktacular show, two live bands (Yallah! and Kara Nomadica), dancing, contests, mix of various styles of music for the late night dancers, and surprises.

Bluebird District School Supply Drive THIS Saturday, August 9th

Participating businesses from Monroe to Fillmore Street in the Bluebird District on E. Colfax are holding a school supply drive, Back to Class, this Saturday, August 9th from 4:30-7:30pm. Back to Class is being held on conjunction with Channel 9 and Volunteers of America's Stuff for Students event. Customers will be able to stroll from shop to shop, enjoy tasty bites, and check out all the businesses have to offer. In exchange for a donation, customers will receive a coupon/discount from the merchant(s) of their choice. There will also be a number of Grand Prizes! Customers can enter to win the prize at each participating business but only one entry per business. Grand Prizes include: Family Membership to the Zoo, Day Passes to the Botanic Garden, 4 toys from The Plastic Chapel, Gift Certificate to Annie's and Paradise Cleaners and more!

Items needed for the supply drive are: backpacks, ruled filler paper (wide and college rule), hand pencil sharpeners, pocket folders, black and blue pens, scissors (all ages), #2 pencils, packs of colored pencils, pencil boxes, crayons (24 count), colored markers, highlighters, white glue, glue sticks, erasers, and rulers.

According to his web site (www.ottsonic.com), Ott will be performing a special 3-hour late night set of live + DJ at Mishawaka Amphitheater on Saturday, May 31st!

YEAH!

For anyone who enjoyed the vibes and tunes Twisted Conspiracy tour at the Boulder Theatre or the Ogden, I would HIGHLY recommend you check this out. Ott is a UK psychedelic dub producer who remixed "Hallucinogen in dub" - and in the opinions of many genre aficionados.. he is the only other person on the planet who makes music of the same caliber of as Simon Posford.

He does delicious, paradisical, organic, deeply psychedelic downtempo dub and worldbeat music.

I personally dig his tunes a lot better than Shpongle, and he engineers the warmest, richest bass I have ever heard in my life! His afternoon sets on the Bassmaxx sound system at Symbiosis were intergalactic.

This is a rare treat in Colorado. Check it.

Taboot Music & Art Expo---> looking for 20 artists

We are hosting the "Taboot Music & Art Expo" in downtown Denver on June 7, 2008 from noon to 2am.

The event will be held at a new music venue, "Owsley's Golden Road" and will feature 20-25 10 ft spaces for artists to display their work for sale or just for show, food vendors, alcohol, four bands (including two nationally recognized), 2 dj's, performance artists, and more. We are expecting a crowd of 600-800.

The event will be advertised in the Westword beginning the second week of May, and all over town through hand silk screened posters and handbills beginning May 1st! The headliner is Yo Mama's Big Fat Booty Band.

Brady’s background degrees are in studio arts and animation from the Art Institute of San Francisco. He enjoys painting as a release of spontaneous thought and reaction, unplanned, and spur of the moment in hopes that each viewer observes it differently, and that each time it is viewed it is seen from a different perspective.

Artist Statement
My artwork is a random release of emotion, thought and skill. I bring to
you the viewer this: a collection of freestyle strokes and unique
patterning: techniques that I have developed over time by years of experimentation.

Each painting is unplanned. It begins and then when I am finished it ends.
The magic occurs when the imagery lives on vicariously through you the
viewer. One day, the painting can mean one thing and then the next day
it will mean something totally different. I leave the paintings
untitled, because they need to be left open for interpretation. All I wish
is for you to observe, breathe, believe, and just be, and see my
work as it is, because…. it is what it is.

In the future I see myself working towards bigger and brighter art
shows, working more with animation and …………decorating the walls of the
world through the immediate interpretation of the mind, body, and soul.

We are so excited to announce the grand opening of the new Taboot store in Denver, Colorado. Located at 3000 East Colfax, on the corner of East Colfax and Milwaukee, we are selling Taboot, Vintage, and NeoVolt clothing, as well as gems, minerals, crystal wraps, jewelry, purses, wallets, photography, and more. Our new spring collection will be available during our Grand Opening Party on Saturday, April 12th from 10am until midnight. We will have drinks, food, and music later in the evening. Craig Dermody currently lives and works in Boulder, Colorado where he is currently earning his B.F.A. from the University of Colorado. A Nevada native, he has been exhibited in various local gallery exhibitions in his hometown of Reno. He was most recently featured in the public group exhibition, “(Con)Temporary Gallery” this past summer alongside artists such as, Felix LaBrona, Cynthia Connolly, and John Grider.

“Lately, nothing I make seems to fit in any order, rhyme or reason. I find myself floating from one elaborate, yet static thought to the next. In this time, I have developed the habit of sinking into so many different social environments that I am actually dissolving any evidence of consistency or patterning entirely with regards to subject matter. I’ll be surrounded by drunken teenagers one night, wake up the next day and be in a taxidermy shop interacting with people who haven’t a care in the world as to what’s hanging in their local art gallery and would just as soon search for creative value through the quality of craft in their stuffed carcasses. Through these relationships, I find there to be a broad spectrum of means by which to communicate them. Through evidence of photographs and sculptures, this show serves as a tribute to various experiences over the past two years.”

We run a small screen printing shop and clothing company on Blake Street. We do commercial screen printing as well as handle band and event merchandise. Our clothing company, Taboot Art, prints artist submitted designs on clothing in limited edition runs. We are currently taking submissions for our spring collection. If you'd like to be involved in a high-fashion runway show that's creative, fun, and benefits the creative community, now is your chance.

Deadline to sign up: February 1, 2008.

ADCD is now signing up teams to design paper fashion creations to be modeled in our runway show on March 20th, 2008.

What is the ADCD Paper Fashion Show?
Teams sign up to design fashions created from paper that's donated by our sponsors. These fashions are then showcased at our grand runway show, and voted on by our panel of judges. The fashions are then put up for auction to raise money for the charitable recipient benefiting from the event.

Event specifics:
Designs may be for men or women. Your designs will be showcased by runway models—you may provide your own model, or we can provide talent for you. We will also provide hair and make-up services for models if needed. You may have as many people on your team as you wish - and there is no cost for participating. However, a maximum of 4 people per team will receive free admission, any additional team members receive the discounted ticket price of $10 (standard tickets are $25).

Washer and Dryer Need Home

I'm moving out of my place and I have to sell my mom's washer and dryer (maytag) that need about $100 mait on them, but they still wash and dry. My mom wants 75 a piece for them, but I won't tell her if someone offers me less and can come pick them up... I move on Saturday, but they don't have to be out until the 30th.

Metal trash cans and other "STOMP" like percussion needed for three

Me and my two hommies just got a gig in Telluride for a stomp influenced percussion session for a few days at the ski and snowboard festival. We have tons of percussion toys but never knew a metal trash can would cost so much. in which case we need your help. we just want to borrow, if interested, buy. None the less the event is the 13 & 14 of December. Any can, buckets or anything you feel is fun to hit with a drum stick in a rhythmic motion. Driving a Chevy Blazer Burgundy and Silver

The only physical tips we have are that;
- He was upset when he left and had got in trouble with his female boss,
- He was supposed to meet some friends after work, but never showed up
- His Blazer was supposedly seen twice, in No. Utah, Park City within a week of his disappearance, but was never positively identified.
- October 18th a older man and 3-4 teenager boys were observed at a restaurant in Mexican Waters, AZ . . . the man behaved suspiciously, and four boys were all very hungry and ate their meal in silence. One boy looked like Chris, but could not be positively identified.
- 11/22/07 a girl working at a gas station in Cortex, CO "says' she can positively identify Chris as a boy that has come in several time, most recently with 2-3 day, trying to buy cigarettes . . . he is in bad shape, undernourished and drugged out . . . He doesn't have ID but has a passport.

They need someone who knows how to do henna artwork. They will buy all the supplies you need.

Disintegration's legendary Halloween party tomorrow Sat Oct 27th! DEAD SOULS theme!!!!

Disintegration's HUGE HAlloween bash is tomorrow Saturday October 27th!!!This is the party of the year and not to be missed!! We go full out with decor, prizes and festivity!!

Disintegration was one of two places in Denver chosen to promote the new Ian Curtis/Joy Division movie "CONTROL." The promotional party, complete with give-aways, trailer clips, and more happens to fall on the same weekend as Disintegration's massive Halloween celebration. So in memory of Ian Curtis, and many other musicians and artists that have influenced our generation, Disintegration is proud to present "DEAD SOULS" a Halloween/Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) Celebration on Saturday, Oct. 27 at The Atrium (554 S. Broadway, Denver, CO).

Prizes will be given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in the costume contest. In order to be eligble for the contest, you do need to be dressed in the theme... either Dia De Los Muertos or a dead idol of your liking... Of course costumes are encouraged even if you're not going to be in the contest. It's Halloween and dressing up is always fun!
Values of prize packages (consisting of items from our 7 sponsors) are over $350 for 1st, over $250 for 2nd and over $150 for 3rd. We will also be giving goody bags for the first 50 costumed patrons, and there will also be a raffle containing several
BPAL items!!!
